some of our favourite things...

this is Valentino's paw print. He only had 3 toes on his right front foot
after an amputation following a lure-chasing accident.
On the day he came out of remission I rolled ink onto his
foot and had him stand on my leg, then had him stand
on paper and made this drawing. I drove to the tattoo shop
 and had his paw print tattooed on my leg, exactly where
he'd stood an hour before. It's been oddly comforting when I'm
really missing him... which is still pretty often.

This is Hazel, one of the great loves of my life...
She lives with my neighbours, and doesn't like
cameras with a flash.


She always has a toy for me and never fails to lift my
spirits with her love and joy...
